Queen comes to town

Leigh Sports Village is the biggest investment in public sports, recreational and educational facilities in the borough for many years and will transform Leigh into one of the finest hubs of leisure activity in the North West.

Although major parts of the Village were opened to the public on Wednesday 2nd. January 2008, the official opening by HRH The Queen accompanied by HRH The Duke Of Edinburgh took place at a luncheon on Thursday 21st. May 2009.
